Svenska Spel Reports Record Q2 Revenue Driven by World Cup Betting

Svenska Spel has announced record second-quarter financial results for the period ending June 30, citing the FIFA World Cup as the primary growth driver. The Swedish state-owned operator recorded a seven percent year-on-year increase in net gaming revenue.

Net gaming revenue reached SEK1.96bn (€177.8m), while operating profit rose 13 percent to SEK617m. The operating margin improved to 31 percent. The Luck brand contributed SEK1.34bn, supported by record monthly revenue from Eurojackpot.

Sports and casino revenue grew 11 percent to SEK552m, with sports betting alone surging 135 percent in June.

Digital Expansion and Operational Adjustments

Online channels accounted for 67 percent of total revenue, up from 62 percent in the previous year, with mobile gaming representing 58 percent. Active customer numbers increased by 36 percent, and new registrations jumped over 340 percent compared to June 2025. Conversely, the Vegas gaming hall division saw a 16 percent revenue decline to SEK69m.

The company reduced its workforce from 861 to 841 employees.

Svenska Spel attributed the betting surge to its collaboration with the Swedish Football Association and announced a partnership extension with the Swedish Ski Association through 2032. CEO Anna Johnson stated that the quarter was influenced by favorable external factors and emphasized the need for continued execution to sustain growth.
